Clickers can be useful tools for marking behavior. A clicker creates a distinct sound that often grabs a dog’s attention. They are great for puppies or more distractible dogs. At Elevate our goal is always to transition to a verbal marker, but some people & dogs find a clicker to be a good way to build the concept of marking behavior.

We carry clickers in a variety of colors.

A treat pouch is a convenient place to keep training treats. It keeps your pockets clean and keeps the treats easily accessible. There are many different styles and sizes on the market.

We will always recommend using a standard nylon flat leash. We find that this type of leash gives you the most control and feedback. 

We have standard nylon 6’ Black and Orange leashes available for purchase in store.

We also carry The Good Dog leash. This leash has a built in safety clip and is Handcrafted in the USA.

Think of these like handles for your dogs collar, we find these to be very useful when paired with a Herm Sprenger prong. This allows you to manipulate the collar as needed without requiring your dog to drag a long leash around. This is particularly helpful when addressing behaviors like jumping on guests.

Safety clips are used in combination with the prongs. While a prong will rarely fail, it can happen. A safety clip is used as a preventative measure. It is attached to a regular collar or harness and then attached to the leash. This way, should the prong fail, the leash is still attached to the dog.

We carry these in a variety of sizes ideal for different sized dogs.

These are great for dogs with skin sensitivities. Pitties in particular are prone to skin allergies and can have an allergic reaction to the nickel in the prong collars. A neck protector is a cheaper alternative to a hypoallergenic prong collar. It is also great for curly and or dense coats (such as poodle and doodle coats) as it prevents the prongs from getting caught in the dense curls.

The Herm Sprenger ULTRA-PLUS Training Collar with Center-Plate & Assembly Chain (Steel Chrome-Plated) – Swivel Ring is our preferred prong collar. It is a high quality tool and comes in a variety of gauges to best fit different breeds and temperaments. We are happy to help get your dog fitted and answer any questions, even if you are not going through one of our programs.

These are alternative Herm Sprenger prong collar styles meant for dogs with metal allergies or for those that need a specialized size. This category includes half link sizes, hypoallergenic metals / coatings and micro sizes.

These are quick release buckles meant to make it easier to put the collar on and take it off.

Our preferred brand is E-Collar Technologies and the main model we recommend is the EZ Educator. This e-collar has a half mile range and comes with a variety of features. It has a tone, vibrate and stim feature. We prefer this brand because the stim has 100 levels, meaning it is much easier to find a level appropriate for the dog and situation. This stim is similar to what you would feel with a TENS unit; it is a dull muscle stimulation rather than a sharp shock. We never want a dog to be afraid of the e-collar. It is a communication tool. During training we will make sure both you and your dog understand the tool and have the skills to use it in a variety of situations.

This model can be used on up to 2 dogs with one remote. If you are wanting a 3 – 4 dog system we can order that in for you.

This is a smaller unit, it shares many of the features of the EZ 900 but has a different style remote and a smaller receiver. This receiver has a ⅓ mile range. Like the EZ 900 this model also goes from 0 – 100 with the stim, though it is about 20% softer. It is ideal for small and toy breeds or bigger dogs with soft temperaments.

This is a collar strap for the e-collar. It provides a quick release buckle meaning you don’t have to keep resizing the collar every time you put it on. It also offers a bungee that allows the BioThane collar to flex with your dog making it more comfortable for long durations or intense activity.

This is a hypoallergenic alternative to the bungee collar. This entire collar is an elastic material and also offers a more discreet way of holding the receiver. It is free of metal and is a BioThane free alternative. We use this for dogs with metal allergies or those with short fur that get hotspots or bald spots from the regular bungee collar. It still functions the same as the bungee collar, but is better suited to dogs with very sensitive skin, very short fur or metal allergies.
